Stopped here after reading the reviews! Came in for a late lunch, and the hotdogs, burgers, fries, and local pies were delicious! Staff was super friendly! It's a must go if your in the Scranton area! Would highly recommend!

Coney Island Lunch is THE BEST. We were visiting friends in Scranton and my husband insisted on going here for hot dogs and their famous chili.
I like plain hot dogs, so I ordered one and a plate of chili cheese fries. Honestly, hot dogs and sausages are not my favorite foods, but this hot dog was amazing. It was split lengthwise to increase the surface area that was exposed to the grill, maximizing the outer crispness. Accordingly, they served it on an over-sized bun, which allotted the perfect ratio of bread to meat.
The chili cheese fries were incredible. The chili was a bean-less variety, and felt more like a sauce than a soup or stew. It had great flavor and I loved the cumin. The cheese sauce was your standard neon yellow whiz, which oozed on to the pile of fresh French fries.
Lastly, the service was so friendly and welcoming. I now agree with my husband that no trip to Scranton is complete until you've dined at Coney Island Lunch. -

Traveling in the area for work, and had heard good things. I'm not much of a hot dog guy at all, and the only hot dogs I have eaten in twenty years are Coney Island style dogs. There is something to be said for the style of chili made in Scranton, PA (not sure if it's completely local to this area, but it is different than most others I've had). The Coney Island Lunch dogs were SUPER delicious. I mean, it's not that hard to mess up a hot dog, but their cooking style, and flavoring (dogs, chili, mustard) is awesome. Love the size of them as well. Will definitely be coming back!

First of all amazing, my wife and I were passing through on our way back to Indiana. We had no idea this was a lunch only location. We rolled in close to close but no one said a word. Class act! Absolutely go to this or the normal location a block away when on your way through the Electric City.

Not sure how I feel about the Texas wiener, I'm not sure if it's right for me. The cheese fries were delicious, perfectly fried and crunchy. Ended the meal with a slice of chocolate cream pie and was not disappointed. The prices are incredibly affordable. You will definitely leave with a full belly.
